Default brakes system.

so yesterday i'm driving 45 mph on businnes highway. light turn red, i brake slowly and the closer i get to the light i depress the pedal more lil by little but guess what.. brake let loose pedal goes to the floor and no resistance and i keep rolling what do i do?? downshift to 1st and rip thru the light hoping i dont get Tboned so for the next 15 minutes i drive home with no brakes using trans to brake which isnt hard for the jdm s1 to do.

scenario.
no fluid in reservoir, so i put brake fluid in.. pump pedal and front driver and rear passenger drum is spraying brake fluid on rim and ground.

anyone had this happen to them? being my 5th EF/ED i have owned i NEVER had this happen to me once.

*so i have new brembo blanks and brembo rear drums. that i've been procrastinating putting on the crx.

Well the rear leak is probably the wheel cylinder. The front leak could be the caliper or maybe the brake line is damaged.

i was in the process of replacing all the brakes soon with the brembo blanks and drums.

update the rear passenger side(drum) is the only spot of leaks i double checked. the front is just alot of brake dust.

i'll just drive 1 of the other cars..

but for now i'll be trail riding for a couple of hours.

You can make them work but I would just get two, one for each side. The coupling for the brake line faces at an awkward angle if you use a left one on the right and vice versa.

SOunds like you lost the seal in your rear cylinder. They are easy to change. In fact I think I have a new NAPA right rear cylinder for an 89HF in my car now. I bought both rears for inspection and replaced the left one. A few weeks later the right one started to leak and I installed my Teg rear discs instead.

while you're at it, inspect the metal brake line on the trailing arm and where it comes from out of the car, those tend to rust out bad and fail. my friend's civic met its end like that and mine almost did too.

yeh i just order left and right rear wheel drum cylinders, hardware kit and stainless braided kit.

this will accompany my inventory of brembo blanks, axis hi-performance kevlar pads, brembo drums and shoes that i already have.

and the custom 3" straight back under gas tank and exit under license plate exhaust is being done. BIG WEEKEND for me. all of this is setting my turbo setup back damnit.
