Default Is this possible

I was thinking is it possible to run a kill switch to the ignition and not have to have a key. And use a push button to start the car. Because my goal is to have no key for my car that way I don't have to worry about lossing them or forgeting them.

Can it be done and how can it be done?

LMAO halarious

Never seen someone want to go through so much trouble over the laziness of not keeping your keys with you..

Sure, it can be done. Be careful, solder or run new wires, don't use butt connectors you're screwing with high amperage ignition wires, if you use anything less than 12G wire you probably won't be able to start your car. See http://www.the12volt.com and read up... wiring isnt something you want to do with no knowledge, can burn your car to the ground.

BUT BUT WAIT... WHAT IF YOU LOSE THE REMOTE FOR THE POPPERS?
Another problem all together. LOL Think McFly

seems like you could rewire the s2000 ignition to falsely recognize that there is a key in the ignition. how? no clue. good luck though!

That'll make it real easy for a theif.

If you have trouble losing your keys, duct tape a spare key under your car in a hard to find spot.

How do race car use the push button because they don't have to have a key. That is what I am trying to do. I don't have a problem losing keys, I just don't want to have to have them. And if you aren't going to help then do answer my question at all.

actualy they do. it's a battery cutoff key.

if i wanted to do what u were saying i'd put some sorta electronic combo on the ignittion (mabye the same as like on outside grarage door openers) and then get a S2K engine start switch and put that where the ignition key went.

as i asked, u would still need to remove the steering lock so u can steer.

yo I'm an automotive electronics technician and if you want to do it you can but you would have to do a couple hard steps.
1. disable steering wheel lock
2.hook up a circuit w/ relays to connect ignition and accessory
3.and a push-button start switch (i know there are aftermarket ones that are hi amps so you can cut the starter wire and connect the botton in line with it)

all this will do is make the car drivable at any time so do MANY KILL SWITCHES and don't even tell your mom where they are!!!!!!!!!!

yes, you'd have to unbolt not just the ignition, but the thing it sits in that goes around the steering column. then you could take the wires and wire relays to it right, so you could put a start button somewhere. relays aren't that hard, but a bit for me to explain here. look at that 12volt site mentioned above.

maybe there is an underlying medaphore that we aren't seeing here...
I think that this gentleman is trying to find love:
The ignition represents his heart.
The key is all the crap that gets in the way (dates, other women, talking, listening, etc.).
The "steal me" button represents sex.
You don't want to worry about all the other stuff - just get in there and push that button!

or it could be something totally different - i dunno
