single cam stroker
Is a 95mm stroke on a single cam to much to handle with 11.5:1 cp/r pistons on a daily drver? I know a guy named Dave hickman in town that will biuld this motor for me and put around 180-190 hp out of a single cam. (auto-x I want the light weight of a single cam.) Has anyone ever heard of him? he had a 9 secind hatch with a b16 and now he has a h22 hatch stock bottom end running 11.5 ets. His companys website is http://www.dh-racing.com. I was wondering what you guys thought of this idea. thanks for any input.
A 95mm stroke on a single cam scares me. Especially on stock sleeves (ALOT of side loading). As it is, D-series motors are VERY stroke heavy (75mm bore, 90mm stroke) and have a rather poor rod ratio (1.52:1). With the already long stroke increased to 95mm, things are not going to be pretty in terms of side loading and piston speed. I would consider a 95mm D-series motor to be more of a race-only affair than a reliable daily driver motor.

YIKES!!!! Then again, this motor was never made to rev high. By the way, has the deck NOT been raised on this motor (compared to older D-series)?
