so i bought some U bends from jcwhitney to make my charge pipes, but they're made of aluminized steel. i need to order a greddy type s bov flange, and i can't figure out if i need to order the flange in aluminum or steel.

my basic understanding is that you can't weld aluminum to steel or vice versa, but i don't know what the rule of thumb is for "aluminized steel"

this will be welded together using an ARC welder if that helps any.

 

you can weld aluminized steel using a mild steel wire

get the steel flange

essentially aluminized steel is just a coating . dont breath that **** though. it gives off cyanide when welded.
