which usdm ecu would be the best for me ? currently im running a jdm itr ecu . reason im looking for a usdm ecu is because i want to pass smog im also thinking of getting the ecu chipped . thanks in advance.

i have a jdm b16 swap in a 97 civic ex . im currently running a itr ecu .

 

and what year motor ? obd2 or did u convert it to obd1

 

i belive the head is a sirII so im guessing 92-95 ? not sure if im right or not . its a obd 2 setup though.

 

are you getting any CEL's ? id prolly just get a chipped p28. but for passing legit, have fun, hpefully you have a friend

 

well my swap did pass emmision and visual . but it didnt pass the malfunction indicator light . guy who sold me the vehicle said i can pass with a usdm ecu and a usdm 99-00 si oil pump . he gave me the paper work showing that he tried to smog but failed just that lil damn thing . sux.

 

what codes are being thrown ?

 

since im new to this engine stuff , im not sure how to check that . how can i check for the codes that are being thrown ?

 

take the car to autozone, they do it for free, just make sure you write those numbers they gave u down and post them.
