Default Will this MPFI setup (off a 91 Accord) work for my engine?

I have a 91 Civic DX (D15B2 motor) and have the opportunity to use anything from the engine bay to convert my car to DPFI... The set up is out of a 91 Accord... would the manifold bolt up to my head, and would the electronics be compatible?

We also have 2 97 Civics with D16Y7 motors with low mileage...would those be worth swapping into my EF ? what's some basic spec on the D16Y7?

The D15B2 is pretty gutless and these motors are next to free..

I think you would do better doing the civic minime using the civic 97? parts, with a OBD0 to OBD2 harness. Someone has to have a better answer, but I know it can be done... good luck... look up mini me in the search and you will see a wealth of information.

not looking to crack the 97 motors open and swapping heads, not really interested in buying any more parts then I have here since i have 2 parts civics that are 97s and have complete untouched engine bays...

So, in effect i'd be doing a MPFI swap by installing the D16Y7, correct?? Could I use an ECU out of the car even though the car has an Automatic ?

D series sticks with D series
F series sticks with F series
B series sticks with B series

You can use the resistor box. Manifold won't work (unless you do some mad fabrication and spend endless amounts of cash on it)

BTW. I see you said you wanted to convert to DPFI..i think you meant MPFI

yeah i got mangled up in my terms..

So looks like the Accord is out of the picture then...

Would you guys even consider swapping a stock D16Y7 if you had one lying around??

Im looking for more oomph, but nothing crazy...the D15 just seems anemic and a little rough especially at low RPM.. I think a full fuel injection system may run a little smoother.

That being said, can anyone clarify what I will need from my donor? I figured, The motor as it is with intake & exhaust manifold, engine wiring and every accessory thats bolted on the motor. Since i'd be doing OBD2 conversion, how far back does wiring have to go?

Im from the VW world, and with VW's if your staying with the same generation, basically a rule of thumb is to go all the way back to the fusebox when your doing a swap.

why on earth would you convert to OBD2, most retarded thing ever.

Just drop the Y7 into your civic. Keep it obd0, or at the most do OBD1, but it seems like that's not a concern of yours, so uh, keep it OBD0.

OBD2 conversion=pointless, stupid, retarded, every damn derogatory word in the english, spanish, european, asian, canadian, african, and ufo language.

Well

I figured the D16 ECU would want to see 2 Oxygen sensors as well as many other sensors which I figured would be needed for the motor to run properly (with the matching ecu to make it work).

You are convinced that I dont need to convert to OBD2 - Can you tell me more about the wiring aspect of this swap? Things for me to know are: Which sensors are needed to be kept in order to make the motor run properly? What is the best way to wire the D16 motor in?? Use some sort of wiring harness converter on the engine side of the wiring?

If I dont have to convert to OBD2, you can bet your *** I wont - lol!

So then, can I use the D15 manifold on the d16? Or is it beneficial to use the D16 manifold?
