That wasn't the question. Besides why buy a Mugen when you can buy a stand alone.

Don't argue with EP.... MUGEN will always be the answer! Why not MUGEN? and aren't stand alone's illegal for street use.

I believe the top speed in JDM cars is electronially limited...not drag limited. The car will stop accelerating before redlining 5th gear.

2 ways to do it.

1 - chip the ECU (pretty expensive if its 96-up

2 - install a piggy back computer like the Fields or APEXi V-AFC (I think).

wow, you mean a stock USDM ITR has a speed advantage over a stock JDM ITR flat out? That's pretty funny...flies in the face of standard thinking. Anyone on this board doing a full JDM conversion sould enforce this upon themselves

Euro = JDM

It`s not elec. limited. The max speed is 233km/h. Downhill or with f/i you can run over the redline until fuel cutoff

No. Read my post... vmax is 233 km/h, not 180 km/h

Is that true ? Not kidding ? In Japan the limited the R at 180 km/h ?? Why ?

Our R`s are just like JDM but you can run into the fuel cutoff in 5th`s

The Japanese laws here are really strict. Every car here that is stock including your RX-7 and GT-R is limited to 180Khm. People here are forced to buy a computer to have that removed. Soooooo....your Teg could eat a Skyline GT-R V-spec that is stalk.....well, it would kill you till 180Kmh / 111Mph then its all you to catch up.

Hmm, curious..

Anyway.. driving max speed with the R is no sensation.. It`s loud and feels insecure, jumps sidewards with it`s rear through curves when there are wholes in the pavement.. no fun at all, because it isn`t really fast and not really accelerating good above 180 km/h

Believe me.. I never drive anything else than topspeed on my daily trips (business).. The R is not meant to drive topspeed. It`s more a track car.

If the strip is in good condition, no problem. But our not speed limited streets lead over many small rivers and the bridges are made of three ore more peaces connected with a kind of metal props. If that comes together with a long curve at topspeed, the R is hard to control..... Many german R drivers see that too.

None of my former cars behaved like that.
