Default Removing Cats

Some of my friends are telling me I should remove my cats from my 98 sh. The problem I see with this is how do you bypass the O2 sensors. Also what are the pros and cons of doing this.

You won't pass smog. If you really want you can just replace your cat with a high flow one.

ILLEGAL and you will be stinking up 'OUR' air. Not only that there is sufficient proof that for a street driven car it gains you nearly nothing. Want to do it right-get yourself a high flow cat and an exhaust to match. At least there is a little gain with a freer flowing system.

While we are on the subject, can a person pass an emissions test with a high flow cat, header and catback exhaust? Mainly concerned with the cat.

depends on the cat, from what ive heard carsound is the best quality hiflow cat, a lot of it depends on how well your car does with the stock one, if you are barely passing by 1-2 ppm with the stock cat, youre not going to pass with the hiflow, whereas if you are significantly lower than the average readings, you probably will pass with a hiflow, there are too many variables

well supposidly the 5th gen prelude is classified as a "High Emitter profile" so expect your test only every 4 years at least, along with normal smog. its seen as a "sports car" or some stupid ****. my car is bone stock just for this reason. make sure you keep ALL of your stock parts for that damn test only station. ( at least in **** california.)

Just run it realllly lean on the test, and you won't emit too much.

Just keep your old cat and piping and swap them out for the test. That's what I plan on doing.
