How can you tell from a real type r shift knob from a fake one?
On ebay there a lot of shift ***** that look just like the type r shift **** and they claim its the type r style shift ****. How can you distinguish from a real shift **** to a fake one?
the shape of the ones on ebay is definitely different then the authentic ones. Lemme get you a link to a real one...be right back
ok... https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=1180850
you'll find that helpful, as well as an ebay link with a pic of a real one! here is that ebay link ---> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...=6763
EDIT AGAIN: this isn't a great close up but it gives you a great idea of what it looks like color wise as well as the shape.

Key word "Style".
Any time they use that instead of OEM or factory, it's a good bet it's a fake.
There are other ways to spot them just by seeing them. I think the color of the ball was one way I saw mentioned as well as the color of the red paint for the gear selection numbers.
One true way is to feel the weight. The stock Ball is fuggin heavy for it's size. I never weighed mine but when it was off it was pretty hefty.

I know the moment the use style its fake but the real one looks similar to it. I wanted to know it the oem type r **** has any distinguishing marks that can signify its the real one.

marks??? no there are definitely no markings of any kind. Its a satin looking finish with the gears sequence on top in red. As previously stated its very very heavy!

Iam pretty sure the skunk 2 shift **** is every for its size too and might be even more heavier than the oem type r shift ****.
