Default Is there anything i can do to my transmission to make it better

Other than swapping it. I have to use it for now. Its a crx dx manual tranny. I dont know much about trannys. CAn you flush them out like engines? Does changing the clutch give you better off the lines.
The engines got alot of power but i think the tranny is holding it back and im scared to go with an si or ex tranny cause i hear they are bad for cruising in the rpms and i need to keep my gas mileage down. But when i take off in first the tranny seems like its overwelmed and sometimes the tires bounce i know that sounds weird, and then i have to really floor it to get it going.

Kinda hard to understand exactly what you are taking about. Is your clutch slipping? Switching from dx to si tranny isnt gonna hurty your gas milege that much

yea, once your car goes scoatch (steady throttle cruising) you'll get basicly the same milage at 2500 or 4000.

but what are you really trying to establish here? you mentioned something about wheel hop?

yes you can drain your tranny and refill it. There was a post earlier on a diy full and drain your tranny.

the car hops sometimes, like it cant get traction or something. but its strange to me cause wouldnt it peel/scratch instead of hop. And about the flushing i dont mean just changing the tranny oil , i mean can i put a bottle of b12 or seafoam it the tranny, drive around for 5 miles and then drain the tranny , and maybe refill with an additive. I went to autozone and they said they didnt have any manual transmission additives.

You don't need additives...Number one go to a delaer and get 2-quarts of Honda manual tranny fluid., maybe 6-7.00 each....

Then I would check your front suspension bushings for something worn out or maybe broken. Sounds like thats where you first concern is.

Dude, i know what you are talkin about with the takin forever and a day to get going on a DX tranny. I swapped out my EX with a DX thinking that it would be better cuz it would allow the turbo to boost up and give me more time in that particular gear. Damn, was i wrong...that tranny is no good for turbo. Swap it out for an Si or EX and if you are only going to be N/A then a stage1 or stage 2 clutch would be a good idea too since you will have the tranny off anyway. The hardest thing about a tranny---> THE BITCH PIN.

Get an Si trans and just take some lead out of that foot and you'll be fine.

Ok ill get the si transmission

But what year tranny should i look for and what year clutch, cause i hear you cant mix and match
im guessing i have dx axels so is there a year of crx si tranny that the splines would match with a dx, cause i hear they are different and i really cant afford to buy new axels

and i need to match the clutch to the tranny right? Cause its a d16y8 engine and i dont know what kinda flywheel is on it

Only if you don't have the correct tool (a roll pin punch). If you have that, then it only takes a few hits with a hammer.
