Default PNP Head Price

This head[a6] has a Bullfrog Cam, AEM pulley and is ported/polished and 5 angle valve job. The guy wants $600 for it with a core, told a friend about it now he wants it. Is $600 a good deal? Pics are huge to show the detail of the pnp, so clicky the links.

To get it right and most effective usaully take alot of experience , and not in a garage and better tools

i totally agree with elrandeeto. The head is the most important thing on our motors. YOu can make or lose so much power with it. If you need headwork done go to PORTFLOW or my favorite HEADGAMES . The price might be a little higher but you get what you pay for. And the head is not something to bulls**t about. GOOD LUCK

Well, yeah, that brings about a good point. I'm having this guy port match/polish my intake mani and I should have it around 9pm Socal time tonight. Also, the head has a cam/pulley/5angle vavle job/and has been cleaned, he was only 1/2 way through the head project when I took pics. It was still going to be cleaned much more and polished to a mirror finish. But a pnp where I live is usually around $350 just for the pnp, and I have seen good and bad pnp and this one is definitely decent. Meaning, I'd pay that much for the head, but I would like the comments of other members for reference. And he also just informed me the head is milled 80 thousandths. Plus, since its a head, he can always sell it later on down the road for a few hundred considering what it has/has done to it, right? - Darrell

Unless he's going for a huge amount of power I'd say it's fine, although I might try to negotiate the 600 bucks if I were you. It looks decent, but thats only in pictures.. definately make sure it gets cleaned up nice, maybe take it to a machine shop and have it dipped, thats what I did.

you definitely get what you pay for. I have seen stuff that looks like Stevie Wonder and Ray Charles where tag team porting.

Is your car a turbo car? And he couldn't put 5 angles on a stock size valve seat.
