Integra Suspension help.
I drive a 98 inetrga ls 2 door. I've dropped the car 1.7 inches using eibach sportline springs(bought used off ebay). And i've noticed a few things happening lately(last few months).
-When I do a U-turn going left at a moderate speed(not stopping before turning) my front right wheel rubs the fender.
- My front tires wear uneven, due to camber most likely.
-If i'm going really slow and my wheel is turned all the way left, sort of on an incline(eg parking lot on very slight incline) it makes a rubbing/grinding/forced type sound.
My first thoughts were, ok i need a camber kit and i need new struts. upon reading around i'm getting mixed responses, saying it's most likely the springs and not the struts. I've also read that dropping it only 1.7 inches shouldn't need a camber kit.
So my questions are:
1.From the above explination is it more than likely the springs or the struts?
2. Do/Don't i need a camber kit, with the given drop amount? would an alignment fix my problem?

Uneven tire wear is due to alignment problems but not necessarily too much negative camber. Have you had the car aligned? If not then get it aligned and have them set the toe to 0 front and rear.
As far as the rubbing goes. Is it the inside of the fenderwell or outside? If inside then you could use a little less offset - get a set of 5mm spacers (H&R makes some). If outside edge then roll your fender a little (search is your friend) or get narrower tires or lower profile tires.
Everything I've mentioned except the tires is going to cost a hell of a lot less than shock replacement. Also changing shocks will not stop rubbing or eneven tire wear.

alan

Like stated above, uneven tire wear is from bad toe settings. If you like spirited driving (hard cornering), then added negative camber (from lowering) will actually help your tire wear. Get those wheels aligned.
As for the rubbing, what size & offset rims and what size tires are you using? Your gonna have to get under the car & find out where the tires are rubbing (look for rubbed areas inside the fender well). Then you will be able to find the best solution to this problem...
Eibach springs carry a lifetime guarantee. If they say Eibach on em, you don't have to worry...

riding on stock rims and tires. going to get the car aligned thursady.
It's rubbing/cutting(very fast cornering) right in the middle of the tire, caused by the very outter edge of teh fender well, where you'd measure the gap between the tire and the fender.
