Ah.. I've heard about this setup but i'm not too familiar with it. I think it was close to a Type-R motor? err.. not too sure.

the b16 isn't going to change the compression much over the c1 head. and i mean either way u'll still want to put some lower compression pistons in it just to be safe...

Last I checked the compression was done by the type of the pistons and the head gasket. Not the head, unless it's been milled which it isn't because we're talking about stock heads.

The B16 head... are we talking about a civic type r head? If this is the case, it's exactly the same as an Integra Type R head it has different cams thats about it.

Search button is pretty helpful too instead of relying on the opinions of people who seem to be a bit unsure. Factual data is much better

Running a PR3 head(ITR/SI(R)/CTR/1G GSR/ETC)) on a B18C1 block will drop compression about .1 or .2

The 1G GSR block was a bastard, then they changed it and now the 2G GSR head is the bastard. lol.

I had a B17 and was building it for boost and realized the aftermarket support for the b17 itnernals is very scarce.. Could only go with Crower rods.. Anyways. this is pretty cool. Some guy realzied someoen ahd this somewhere in the states:

whoa whoa sorry. We shouldn't ahve gone off track on th B17 thing. in no way does a B18C with B16 head = B17.

In the end it will still be clseo to standard B18C1 HP. maybe a tad more with the better flowing head. but only if you sued the GSR cams etc.

No. The talk about compression is ffected only by head gasket/pistons of if head is milled is wrong
