Valve cover pressure!! Is this normal??
Don't know if anyone can help me, but figured it's worth a shot...Is it normal to be able to feel wind pressure blowing out your valve cover breather? I took the hose off of my intake today and noticed that there was substantial wind pressure coming out of it, just wanted to make sure it's normal. The reason I am concerned is that my VTEC solenoid seal is leaking, and I'm thinking maybe it could be because there is more pressure in the head than normal? Yeah, I'm paranoid, I like things to be perfect
.
I have seen on some crazy setups on here, and I noticed people had drilled holes in the front of their valve covers and attatched fittings to them, and ran hoses into a catch can. Is this the solution to this problem? Think I may try it just to be on the safe side. Anyone have a write-up? Thanks in advance

its cool man, thats what its there for...to vent blowby gases out. You only need the two hoses in the front if u have like...crazy built motor.
That is why it is called a breather so it vents the pressure from the engine. The reason people use a small filter or catch can setup is to prevent the oil that is in the air from being sucked back into the intake system like the stock setup does.
the catch cans are for the PCV valve system.
if you throttle the engine you will feel pressure from the breather.
you have a shop in suffolk county, where at?
