Default K series swap shifter box "pan". (Opinions / suggestions needed.)

I fabbed up my own pan for my K swap using some 26 gauge sheetmetal scraps lying around at work.

(Click on pics for larger versions)
Here it is:

and here's how it will work:

My only concern is how well it will stand up to the outside elements in the north east. Do you think covering it with a "rubberized undercoating" will keep it from rusting out?

sick Jay. I would spray it with paint or undercoat before putting it in, that will get rusty first time it rains.

PM me sometime man, still owe you something.

that will do it.

but like 743power said, you should spray it.
i would use some kind of primer first. then paint.. then after u install it.. go under the car and spray some undercoating.. might seem a bit extreme, but all of that will definetely keep it from rusting if thats a major concern.

Not at all. The more protection the better.

you need to get some etch primer its an acidic primer that eats its way into the metal for bare metal. use it alot in autobody.

What about getting it powdercoated? That should protect it from rust pretty well.

Red Zone makes these already. They work very well.

PS-the rubberized coating in a can works great. I just used a bunch of it on my brothers car that had new floor pans welded in.

No problem. I'm not planning on going to go into production of these or anything...

Please post more info on your product if you'd like.

and what's wrong wit someone doing it themselves? maybe they didn't feel like paying w/e you charge for them and wanted to take on the task of doing it themselves.

Congrats to you guys for making them for so long, but, I give props to JV for making something that will work for his application.
