Default Crx conversion on Civic hatch

Okay guys, question about the crx si front end conversion on a civic hatch.

I *think* that the fenders are a hybrid fender. Not quite sure. If Im correct, the top half (from the molding up) is crx, and the bottom half (from the molding down) is the hatch piece. If anyone can confirm this/lead me down the correct path, that would be awesome.

Reason Im asking is cause my I bought my friends 91si hatch w/ a crx si front end conversion. He bought the car off of the original owner who was the one that did the conversion after a little front end collision. Ive been having troubles getting ahold of him and finding out the answer to this question.

The drivers side fender has a little bit of damage from where someone hit and ran as well as the hood having a little ding in it. I was thinking about getting a cf hood + cf fenders, but if Im correct about the setup of the fenders, the cf fenders are NOT going to be happening unless if I find someone who makes them specifically for the conversion, or if I do it myself. Im not afraid of the fabbing, I just wanna know where to start. Thanks guys!!!

From what I understand, the Civic and CRX front ends are just slightly different for a few reasons.

- Filler piece on the Civic between the hood and front bumper cover
- Slight differences in actual measurements.

All I have been told about it from seeing the finished product of one is that as long as you use the entire front end, they swap from one to the other. But just to use a fender from another to replace "cause they have the same front end" wouldn't fit, as in just a few inches\cms\mms off.

I used to have a Civic Si with a CRX Si front end on. The guy who did it said that it can be done as long as you convert the whole end and vice versa. But no parts mixing.

But the bottom needs paint to match.
I love the hatchs with the JDM CRX front.

i believe as long as your swap the whole front end of the hatch to crx and vice versa you should be fine.... but remember dont switch the years around and crx parts with hatch parts(except the hood its all the same).. 88-89 compatible and 90-91 compatible...

What needs paint to match, if you are talking about the black part, well. Its the way that they came stock from Honda, and Im an OEM fan. Esp. when it comes to body pieces. ****, if I liked the way that body kits looked, Id get one and paint that, but I dont, so I wont.

My front end is not JDM.

Eibach sportline springs. Its a good looking drop, but be careful!! ::Scrape scrape::

by paint match, i think he is refering to the front bumper. How the crx's have them half black.

yah right?? wow, that looks great...I don't get how the sportlines (which is less than a 2 inch drop) can look lower than H&R race...i have the H&Rs on my rex right now and it still doesn't look as low as your sportlines..

what kinda shocks??

i think it looks good, imho better than the regular hatch front,BUT!! every car has its own personality and i think if youre going to "mod" a hatch do it right and dont do conversions unless theyre meant for your car.

trust me man, i hear ya! IT seems kinda bogus to put CRX front on a hatch but like i said, these pics look a little bit better than ones ove seen in the past; but yea im kinda hatin a little too but it looks pretty good. Id still rather have an ef9 jdm front though

I have Koni Yellows. This car has a beautiful suspension setup.

Anyway, guys, as much as I appreciate the comments, Im trying to figure out the fender setup and if its half/half like I think. Im not saying dont post, but....remember, I dont care what you guys think about how it looks . I know it looks good, I dont think that its sacreligious to the Crx. I love Crxs, I wanted one for my first car, then realized that for my own needs, its too small. The hatch is perfect for me, and now....Ive got a little of both worlds.

Thanks for the comments!! But, lets get this question answered!

I do know what you are saying...but the guy who originally did the conversion got in a front end accident. He did a good job with what fate hit him with!

Anyway, lets get this answered!

well if he has a CRX front end on it then probably if u need to replace the fenders there probably crx fenders. i dont get ur question on what ur asking but if i helped good but if not then restate the question. Also i dont know what body kit any body saw there cause aside from the front conv. there's no other work to it (body wise) its all stock
