I cleaned my engine, the other day, and i thought i covered everything important up, but after cleaning it and letting it run for a few minutes the check engine light came on. so i reset the computer, and then it started to missed, and shake real bad. So today, i pulled my spark plugs, and sprayed air in the spark plug cylinders to get any moisture out. But it still is kinda doing it. Any other ideas, to help cure the problem, or will just driving fix it.

if i take the cap off, will it mess up my timing? or how can i take it off, without moving the distributor.
Just unscrew the bolts that hold the cap to the distrubtor. Just as long you don't loosen the bolts holding your distrubtor to the motor your timming will be the same.
Get a spray bottle, put water in it. Star your car. Spray the water slowly along the spark plugs, all the way onto the distributor cap, until the car dies. Whetever you were spraying when the car dies is the problem. I hope this helps! Later!

it didn't happen right away though, it took about 30 minutes of driving before it happened. I already pulled the plugs, they looked fine.

i used tin foil and covered plugs, distributor, cap, all exposed electrical connections, and valve cover breather
at least the engine looks clean as hell

The same thing happened to me a while back, I started problem solving by replacing my crappy plugs with some bosch +4's and the prob. was solved, ended up I had a hairline fracture in one of my stock plugs.
DO NOT BUY BOSCH PLATINUM + 4'S!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They are probably the worse spark plug you can buy. I have seen more cars have drivability/starting problems and other engine related issues, all because of these crappy plugs. That is all.
take off the dist. cap, check the rotor and the cap for any chips/rust or anything of that sort, also check to see if there is any moisture inside of there.....also, try running a bottle of fuel injector cleaner next fill-up just in case....and then finally get rid of that valve cover breather, its hurting your engine and it is messing with the way honda designed things...it is just NOT a good thing to have and does nothing good and can only hurt it, it might help on other cars...but not hondas.

Were you careful to not spray a direct stream of water on the dist. cap, even though it was covered up? I've cleaned my engine before and didn't cover anything up, I just made sure to not spray directly onto the dist. cap, and I've had no problems at all.
First things first.
what code came up on your ecu?
OBD II cars have an O2 sensor in their intake manifold that if any water gets sucked up it will cause it to malfunction. could possibly be it. but check your engine code.

ok well i have a 98 gsr obd II
and today my check engine light came on aagain today, and this time i didn't just reset it, i pulled it to see what it was and it was code 54, which is the CKF Sensor (Crankshaft Speed Fluaction)defective circuit or unplugged /defective sensor.
Do u think it is from moisture build up, from cleaning my engine, and i need to clean the connector, and dry it out. or could it be something else?
