A couple of local ITR guys and I were talking. They came up to the conclusion that unless the wheels are Vold, Advan, Work and a couple other names I am forgetting, that they dont belong on an ITR. Just curious on what you guys think.

Complete rubbish of the highest order!!!!!!!!

Everyone has different tastes and no rim or rims are the correct or wrong ones, whatever size/style you like is the right rim for your ITR. Saying that some rims do look crap IMO on an ITR but whatever rims people get they dont have to be some expensive JDM rim....they ay look better than some non JDM rims but that doesnt mean that you have to get them as nothing else suits the ITR.

Tell your friends they are full of ****!

To me it isn't a matter of name brand but a question of quality. I value my R and when I modify it in any way I only want the best quality, craftsmanship and performance I can get. That goes for pieces like cams and suspension components as well as wheels.

i think most people picture Type R's with volks and JDM rims.... thats why so if you see an R with some no name brand rims it looks awkward haha..

As long as the rims are not 200 lb. 18" boat anchors, it's all good.

No I dont. I think if you seriously had to ask that question, you might be holding the ITR a little too highly in regard. It is after all a 25k acura, not a 100k Jag or something.

Bingo!

Mine even have some rust on them. I like the contrasting hues.

Thats hilarious...the car is too good for other rim brands besides those made most popular by the JDM crowd? (volk, work, advan, etc)...please, nothing against ITR's but it aint like you have an Murcialago and your trying to slap some Rota's on it ya know?

If someone finds the look of a set of Enkei rims on the type-r, who the hell are you guys to criticize that person for enjoying their personal taste? Can you offer opinion, absolutely...but is it wrong for someone to buy WHATEVER rims they want regardless of brand, for their own car? Absolutely not.

Open your minds...lol...its like the people that hate on civics with a bunch of JDM cosmetic work and still runs the D16 engine, who cares, if they like it...thats their car, let them drive it...personal taste is what it boils down to.

I don't see any ITR's on Fikse, HRE, or high end custom wheels. <shrug>

VOLK, Spoon, SSR are actually rather inexpensive compared to really high end wheels out there, IMHO.

Cosworth brings up a good point, look at how expensive some of the rims the Supra guys are running.

On my Civic Si, I had $2100 Volk LE37s on it, I dunno if I would do it again, sure they're nice, but I don't know if it is worth it. I think that Rotas are just fine for an R, they're not Supras, Ferraris, etc .

referring to cosworth:

haha yeah true. i look at my ssr's as a really good value honestly.
however, i was curious about getting a set of 17 inch fikse's because they are somewhat close enough to me and a great company, but i think they would laugh if i told them they were going on an integra

the smallest, lightest and cheapest wheels are the best wheels for the R.

Its not like the car can even handle low offset multi piece rims like the real baller cars. i.e m3

Install wheels over 16x7 and 16 lbs and the R feels anemic.
