Where to buy a ATR tranny?
I really want to get either a ATR or F20b transmission. Mostly for the beefy synchros and the helical limited slip diff, but if I coud get the ATR that would be best since it has the shorter 2nd and 3rd gear.
Problem is that I haven't found anyone that will sell just a tranny. H motors sells the F20b swaps but wont split up just a tranny. Anyone know of an importer that will sell one of these transmissions?

Read the faq and check your ratios...
Fact of the matter is neither of these trannies have 'beefier' synchros as you say. Go over to the UK honda forum http://forum.hondarevolutions.com and see how many ATR owners complain of 5th gear grind in these great trannies. I had a Euro-R tranny which is exactly the same except for 5th gear and I had the same issues, couldn't even get it into reverse one day...
The F20B tranny is nothing special..it's 5th gen ratios and on OEM LSD. Not really worth the dough, I'd rather put a Quaife into a USDM tranny. And the OEM LSDs in these trannies is nothing special. I had one, compared to the kaaz I had before..it was a joke..

From the FAQ:
M2A4 - 3.307 - 1.950 - 1.360 - 1.071 - 0.787 - 4.266 (my current ratios)
T2T4 - 3.285 - 1.956 - 1.344 - 1.034 - 0.812 - 4.266 LSD
T2W4 - 3.285 - 2.090 - 1.481 - 1.071 - 0.812 - 4.266 LSD
U2Q7 - 3.285 - 2.090 - 1.481 - 1.071 - 0.870 - 4.266 LSD
2nd and third look shorter to me, its 1.956 vs 2.090, which comes out to roughly 7% better gearing.
As for the synchros, I was under the impression that all of the type r's (ITR, CTR and ATR) all had dual synchros and the helical LSD. I guess I was wrong on the synchros? I realize that an aftermarket diff would be better than OEM, but I was looking at it thinking it would be a good performing OEM tranny to just bolt up instead of tearing a tranny apart.
I have no idea what they cost either, as I cant seem to find one for sale anywhere...

I was referring to checking the FAQ for the T2T4 (F20B) ratios...they are nothing special. You're also higlighting the euro-r tranny, not the ATR
You can't find ATR/Euro-R trannies because they are rare, and no one in their right mind would separate it from the full swap. I searched the UK for 3 months to find mine.

Oh ok, I knew the T2T4 was the same as stock, I just thought it had better synchros and lsd than the M2B4.
Best price I have been offered on a M2B4 is 1095 shipped from Noyan Motors. Maybe I will just go that route. I'm going to need a new tranny down the line, it sounds like my input shaft bearing is shot and 2nd and 3rd grind when the car is cold.
