Default FI track "R" owners

Who better than to ask the R owners, first off i did a search..so give me a break.
Anyways,i own a EK hatch bla..bla.. with a stock JDM itr motor, and i was looking to get in to a super charger or a small turbo kit for to up my power at the track.
It would be for Road racing only.. so i'm not looking to make monster power.
I have no problem getting down in the turns with other cars but on the straights it me getting passed up by stock evo's and rx7's ect.. i currently have a turbo car
that puts out great power but is to hard to controll..with that being said is there a set up any one has done that made good midrange power and that handels good with out spinning out..? i wanted to do the all motor thing but it seems b series
are getting to be old news and very solw compared to K series.I dont want to do the swap thing all over again.I just want some honest anwnsers from people
that have done FI to their ITR's and it worked out for them....other wise i guess i'll just stick with what i have.
thanks...

for power - small turbo setup or JR supercharger

to prevent wheel spin - LSD

to prevent spinning out - driving lessons

or just buy a faster car

Need power in the straights to keep up with the bunch? then try NO2

If your running a HPDE why would you wan to be near other cars/drivers? I love seeing a car far far ahead I focus in harder to catch the guy. unless its some monster High HP car I can reel them in nice and slow.

The reason I say NO2, if setup right it will help to save money while adding power.

Most road courses ban the use of N02 for fire hazard reasons

i.e. you won't pass tech inspection

NO2? never heard that one before? little to crazy for me..
i agree with chaceing them down, wich is cool and all but it seems like its the same loop over and over agin, pass in the turns then get malled in the straights..
i'm not looking to buy a new car..this is my track car so i wont cry if i hit a wall..
i know what all motor will do in my heavy *** car and i want a little more power,
i just have not heard any good reviews on this kind of application..maybe there is a reason for it?also with my high compression how safe is it to run low boost?

Spend the $$ in suspension, tires and seat time before you go looking for more power. More power will only break **** faster.

My student at Road Atlanta yesterday was eating up everything under 300hp with a stock '99 miata.

I've been hpde'ing a jrsc ITR for 4 years, never had a problem with it. I don't know for sure if your higher compression would cause a problem, but I doubt it. Just keep boost around 5psi, which is more than enough for hpde use.

Listen to what .RJ said. Seat time and suspension are the best hpde investments. If you're consistently passing the same cars in the corners, that means you're faster than them, and their instructors should put a stop to the see-saw thing.

what #'s do a 5 pound pully do? i saw a dyno chart on a usdm "R" it ounly put down 218hp and 136=tq seems kind of low for FI. you could get that from a
mild head package..thats why i'm torn betwen all motor and FI??? i never get any straight anwsers was that a shitty dyno chart or tuner or are there any kick ***
super chargers set ups..?
Thats awsome that yours is 4 years strong..dose it create a lot more heat
under the hood?dose it make good power all through the power band or is it just in the vtec cross over?
thanks

some people (like me) would prefer to keep everything internal as stock as possible. thus, the mild head package would be my last choice vs. bolting on a low boost jrsc. the jrsc would also be a hell of a lot more fun to drive in my opinion.

What the hell does this mean? You really need to post more info, because I honestly doubt you are getting the most out of the car as is. An ITR motor in a EK hatch has an awesome power to weight ratio and will roll pretty much anything under 400hp on track if driven well - and if you're not, you need more seat time and better suspension/tires.

If you want to give yourself more headaches, wear out tires and brakes and just break **** faster then sure.

OK your not telling me anything i don't know...i dont need a lecture..
i'm looking to up the power a little..i'm not talking about putting on a thumper turbo
on my car..stock itr's are getting slower now..with kseries hatches and evo's
good drivers in those cars are hard to keep up with..i'm sure you know that as well
i'm not saying i'm a pro or any thing like that.. just want some feed back from some one who has used FI at the track...

Then make yourself a 'good driver' with instruction and seat time. I'm not sure what about this you dont get.... more power sounds like a good idea, but after dumping $2-$3k into a setup that would buy you a 3-day weekend at a skip barber/bob bondurant/derek daly school that will drop your times much more than just more power, and something that will stay with you long after you sell the car I just dont see the point.

A good manifold, GT28RS @ 5-6psi, and good tuning will get you a really responsive boosted motor.
