Default H22 into a 89 crx si?

I can get a good deal locally on a full swap. Just wondering if it can be done (reasonably) and if it's worth doing.

Advantages? Disadvantages?

Thanks in advance...

Advantages-2.2litre,lots of torque,Stock block can handle 400+ hp,Motor swap can be had for around $2000..

disadvantages-no damn room, lots of money to make it fit and work,Lots of fabrication,Oil pan is low to the earth, etc

Supposedly enjo has already made their mounts and axles for an EF swap.....They are on their way to shelves now. ARD performance has them (the mounts) listed for around $400, they are weld in and Im not sure about the shipping situation.......So the fabrication issue is becoming less important now a days

My plan is H22 with B series mounts using a B-series tranny, fabricating my own adapter plate.
Would be nice to be able to buy the adapter plate but the fools who produced it already are flakes.
Rywire.com will produce and sell these someday.

Sounds like there are some mounts on the market already but weld-in doesn't compare to bolt-in. Still some work and for most that means a shop has to do it.. and who wants to trust a shop. Most suck.

2point2 is a good contact for sure.

guys,

nice to hear the h22 chatter.. but lets not do things half ***... for those plates to work properly you need very tight tolerances.

I'm sorry.. but your not going to be able to have a reliable 'conversoin' plate without having access to high-tech measuring equipment.

anytime you see two parts mate together with dowels it means that things have to be dead-nuts on. like the tranny and the head. the very reason for using dowels is for accurate location/mating of two separate parts. in this case there are three NEW surfaces being mated!

no offense to the above poster.. but to an engineer - building that plate that way is like building a house by 'eyeballing' it..

Whats the deal with using B series mounts to do the h22 into EF chassis swap? I read something a while ago about using spacers but havent been able to find anything more specific? Can someone provide a bit more info on this. I would like to do the swap and have almost everything to do so now but dont want to use weld in mounts if theres are some bolt on mounts available.

Your help is most appreciated

you will have to weld in a new chassis mount bracket for the tranny side regardless.. the shifting leavers are in the way.

it looks like i just may be going with a c5 to avoid the "custom" parts . plus less headaches.
