Here's what I think of the CRX
Moderators, please don't lock this thread. I'm friends with the thread starter, and he wants to tell everyone what times he thinks he can accomplish with a stock 1991 CRX Si.
Please, no flaming. I just want some real CRX enthusiasts to tell him a little something, because the performance my friend claims is rediculous.
I'll give him a chance to tell everyone what stock 0-60 and ¼ mile times he thinks he can achieve. If he doesn't post them up, I'll do it for him.
Please excuse the magazine racing

Well, since he didn't give a very descriptive statement, I'll have to do it for him.
Basically, I'll sum it up.
He thinks he can achieve a 0-60 time of 6.0 seconds. I read somewhere that the typical stock time of a '91 CRX is in the 8 second range. Can someone verify?
He also first thought a 1990 CRX Si that ran a 13.2 second ¼ was stock, until I showed him the list of modifications that the owner had. Now he's saying the CRX Si can do the 1320 in about 14-14.5 seconds.
He claims to have beaten a E46 M3. He says that his car will beat WRXs, RSXs, or ANY other car.
What he does though, is ricer fly-bys
He also likes to street race through heavy traffic.
Note: This is a COMPLETELY stock '91 CRX Si with crappy tires.
Edit: He claims that anyone that yields a quarter mile time above 16 seconds "is a bad driver"

There are so many factors that come into play when you are talking q/m times, that it's really not even feasible to talk about what you "may" or "may not" run.
We can talk hp, torque stuff like that... Numbers that you can dyno and see, but q/m passes will change everytime. Factors include but are not limted to : Clutch, driver, road conditions, tires, suspension, driver, gas, engine, trans..etc etc etc
Do some research

I completely understand what you're saying. I kow we're not going to get EXACT times. But I think the 0-60 and ¼ times my friend is claiming are not possible, period. I know a good driver can do better than a lot the times on the internet. But car's have limits. Just like how it would be impossible to get a stock RSX Type S to break into the 12s. 14 seconds - yes, the better drivers cn get high 14 second times in a type S. But even a professional driver can't break into 12s, or even 13s.
So what I'm asking is, are the things he's saying even possible in a stock CRX, even with a good driver?
Now, if it was modified, that would be a completely different story.

Well what about the starting factor when I start racing and droping my clutch i start with my 2nd gear and not 1st. Would this make any dif.?

Haha, word. And leaving the parking brake and air conditioning on will yield 10 second ¼ mile times, hahaha.
I'm talking to my friend online. And he actually thought you were serious. He's new to message boards, so he can't pick up on the sarcasm very well. So, I tried to explain the fact you were kidding because you even quoted him in your signature.
It's really hard reasoning with this kid.

No, we're not the same person. I'm just trying to prove my little ricer friend wrong. If you don't believe me, and feel you need to pursue this, then you can have a moderator check the IP addresses

Obviously, I'm not being taken seriously. You guys are acting like I'm coming on your board and acting like a troll.
All I wanted you guys to do is enlighten my friend, so he stops talking crap on every car that's not a CRX.
Oh well, atleast I tried.
Since this is my 5th post, I guess I'm done for now. If the threads not locked by tomorrow, then I'll reply to any comments if I need to.

Seriously though, if your friend is as retarded irl as he seems on this board, he needs more than our advice
