Wassup...does anyone know if the length of a 95 gsr cat is the same as the 00-01 gsr? The reason is because i got a jg header and greddy exhaust for a 00-01 gsr and i gotta 95 gsr. i need to know if the cat is the same length as the 00-01 gsr. thanks.

 

The 00-01 GSR A Pipe is longer than the 94-99 GSR's..

 

That should get you started in the right direction...

 

thanks...yeah i know the a pipe is longer because the header i have has an 02 bung..but on my stock gsr header there isn't an 02 bung. However im just curious if the length of the 95 gsr cat is the same as the 00-01 gsr. If the length is the same then the process should go well. If it isn't i guess im on a hunt for an 00-01 gsr or 98+ itr cat.

 

hey man you need a 17 inch cat. for your setup

i have a dc sport header and a skunk2 exhaust that came off of an 01 gsr, i got my carsound cat right here on h-t from smsp (Dave) do a search and let him know your set up and he will weld any parts that you will need to do a direct bolt up.

I measured my stock cat and it's about 17 inches. You sure this won't fit? Or did you get a dc sport JDM header and skunk exh. and you needed a 2.5 collector cat?

oh yeah: btw the collector on the JG header is about 2" i think, not 2.5.

 

not a lot of people had the right kind of answer for my setup and someone mentioned Dave(smsp) to me and i told him my setup and told me i needed to get this and this done, he was very helpful and sure enough my setup was a direct bolt up, he did all the custom work for a good price, do a search he is under the name smsp, e-mail him and he will answer any of your questions

Oh damn..the cat is 17.5 inches. The tape measure that i used was kinda off. damn. Im just hoping everything goes well when i put the header,exhaust, and cat on tomorrow.
