91 teg gs, heater blower motor, anyone know if there is a relay
hey whats up eveyone, ok so here is the thing, i just bought the car, its a 91 integra gs, well the blower motor for the heater and ac doesn't work, i checked the motor and it works fine with direct power to it, i tested the wires for the plug, one of them has constant power with the key on, regardless of weather or not the heater blower switch is on or off, i've had many civics and honda's but i just started buying and working on the tegs, my question is, is there a blower motor relay that anyone knows of? thanks in advance for any help or insight anyone has to offer!
Yes, there is. Take out the glove compartment, it's held by a few philips head screws. Then look down and you'll see this thing going into the blower that's held on with 2 screws. It has a small metal coil on it. Replace it with one from the junkyard. I had to replace mine because the fan would only work on high or not at all. It's a common problem with DAs.
hey honda hick, thanks for the info, i actually grabbed one today out of another parts teg i had, i was going to try it just for the hell of it and hope for the best, but this gives me hope for tomorrow thanks!
oh oh, looks like that wasn't the prob, i changed it with a good one still no good it would seem, when the blower motor is pluged in the power goes into the switch or relay that controls the speed but ther is power to all the 4wires going in, its got me stumped, i wired it direct for now with a toggle switch, but would really like to figure out the prob, thanks for the input though guys.
