can you use a vafc with a non vtec computer?

Default can you use a vafc with a non vtec computer?

as stated in title, car is a ls/vtec auto and we dont have a computer to run it and this was the last way to get it to run. Will vtec engage?

no cuz their is no signal from the ecu to make the vtec switch over.

on my car when I had to use a different non-vtec computer the vafc still activates the vtec.
