what ecu for ITR motor in an EG?
alright, first off I think I might get flammed for posting this. It might have already been covered. I DID SEARCH AND COULDNT FIND IT, I might be a search dummy lol.
But here is the deal, I am purchasing a 98 ITR swap for my 95 CX hatch. I already have a b16 in it with a reprogrammed p28. Here are some of my options.
I have a obd2 harness off a 00 GSR that I can use on the motor. But if I go that route should I buy a obd1-obd2 jumper and run the p73?
or should I run a obd1 dizzy on the motor, keep my stock harness and use a reprogrammed p28?
I just want to know what you guys think will make the motor run its best.
Thanks in advance... peaS

hondata...
nah, a chipped p28[or whatever ecu u have that will run with your motor] will be fine for ITR set up. Just tell whoever is making the chip your plans and theyll hook you up.
ih8icerz, rocket, are two ive dealt with that know what theyre doing

I second the Hondata. Just depends on your finances. If you can't spring for Hondata, a chipped P28 is a decent compromise.

I've been there and done that and couldn't have said it better myself.....

Yes.
With a chipped P28, you have the option of running Crome, Uberdata...or any of the free programmable softwares available. Find someone near you that does good road tuning, and has access to a portable wideband O2 sensor, and you'll be set.

Alright so I can run the OBD2 motor with the OBD1 ecu? Do I have to swap over to a OBD1 dizzy? or will the OBD2 dizzy still run.. Cuase I was told the OBD2 GSR harness I have will plug into my car... thanks for all the info guys

you can keep the obd2 dizzy and run obd1 ecu. just used an obd1 engine harness and re-pin the dizzy harness. use the obd2 dizzy plug and put the obd1 pins in it. there's a conversion chart floating around. just search for obd1 to obd2 dizzy conversion. you might also have to wire the alternator. running chipped p28 is your best option. or chipped p30 or p72 if you want to use the knock sensor.
The only reason you would need to convert the distributor plugs to OBD1 is if you want to use an OBD1 engine harness.
My ITR is OBD2a (1997, naturally), and I'm running a OBD2a to OBD1 jumper harness, and a chipped P72. No problems.

But make that P73 an early JDM P73. Otherwise, you have to deal with OBDII sensors. With an early P73, all you have to deal with is the ECU plug change.
