I am still waiting for my tires to come in, and they would see about 6 track events this season, I was worried that they would melt when I used them for the first track event. VIR full course. Any input would be appriciated.

yah...I'll be finding out on VIR on feb 16 as well

melt, chunk, disintegrate...same thing...i dont want either...

 

Just drive on them for a little while ahead of time (your own heat-cycling).

Which event @ VIR ... NASA or Speedtrials?

They will be heat cycled on my way to VIR....I dont think they will get here s00n enough and the weather is not warm enough for heatcycling before hand...

*crosses fingers that the tires will last longer than one VIR event*

 

I've never driven VIR but mine had very little mileage on them before a good day at Sebring. I put on maybe 400 street miles before they were abused at the track for 130 miles or so. They were basically full tread and didn't chunk at all... they did get a little greasy after about 25 minutes on track or so.

 

dookie, i'll show you the toys-r-us parking lot that i heatcycled my kumhos on. i drove up and down 95 a couple times, then went into the lot and drove around in circles (like a skid pad). we can bring my big *** jack and swap the wheels front to back.
$10 says you get a nail in a tire before vir! it's your polish luck!
