spun bearing?
I have a chance to pick up a f22b vtec motor from an ex accord but it has a spun bearing. The motor is pretty cheap i just need to know what is involved in fixing that. I have access to many tools just a list of what needs to be replaced or done to make this thing run
It involves taking apart pretty much everything, cept for the head of course... how cheap is cheap? and you might want to look into why the bearing went bad... abuse, not changing the oil... cause it might just be the start of your problems with that engine.

Well he is willing to ship me the motor + the ecu that goes with it for $250. So does that mean I'm looking at a full rebuild? I'm not exactly sure how he spun the bearing... But I can find out.
dont buy it / not worth it imo- spun bearings are a pain in the *** and means more might be wrong - wheres he shipping from and does the 250 include shipping cost? ! Pams Auto in st cloud has one with high miles but running for 300!
Generally on a Honda if you spin a bearing the crank is junked. They don't leave much room for turning it down. So if the motor is that cheap it's probably basically a $250 head and ecu shipped with a bonus boat anchor.
