Okay. So i was driving with the sports button on and the light starts flashing. so i turn off the sports but it keeps flashing. I turn off the engine and turn it back on and its fine. This has happened many times. The speedometer works and i'm not having trouble with the trans. (At least I don't notice any.) What's wrong with it.

 

What's funny is today the light didn't flash at all. I wonder why?

That's like a check-enging light for your auto tranny. Read the error codes.

 

BE MORE SPECIFIC!!! what car, year, model... u know things that would help us solve your problem.

nope. I have a sports mode.... little green light in cluster keeps waving at me.

</TD></TR></TABLE>Look up how to check the error codes for the ECU. Earlier ones had a flashing LED on the ECU itself, you pull back the carpet & watch it. Then you find the tranny controller (TCM) & watch it's LED blinking.

Newer ones have an electrical plug you jumper with a paperclip. Behind the glovebox or something?? Then you watch the CEL & S lights blinking. Long=10 & short=1.

I don't know whether '91 is the older or newer system...
