i blew my airbag in an accident. i have 92 dx sedan. i was wondering how can i take the bag out? instructions? and if its worth anything. please help becasue i cant drive the car with the bag flying all over the place.

what color is your interior? i might have a steering wheel for you. if you need to have it replaced

but back to topic to get the wheel out ud need that tool (i forget the name) that can unscrew the pegs on it

the steering wheel is ok but the bag blew so i dont know wether to cut the thing out or how to remove it. i was just checcking out how to reset the srs but it dosent show where the (mes) is located . ill be going crazy looking for that thing. btw the interior is gray/.

 

it easy to take out the air bag unit. but you will be left with a very ulgy looking wheel. on both sides of the wheel there will be 2 bolts (one one eah side) they are torx bolt so you will have to have a torx bite to remove it. the end will look like a star. once you remove those to bolts the air bag ill sild out and all you have to do is remove the clips from the wires and it will come right out.

 

ok im gonna go try to remove it. is there suck thing as a recycler for airbags. can it be repacked or whatever. also where can i obtain a cover to replace it or can i ghetto fab something so it doesnt look like an empty hole. any ideas?
