Default what's the final drive in a '00 Si?

I always thought it was 4.4. But i was looking at the settings in my hondalogger (hondata) & it says the USDM 99-00 Si's final drive is 4.226.
It has all B-series dohc vtec tranny final drives at 4.4 except the Si 4.226 (and the JDM ITR 98+ obviously).

Just wondering what is right?

I never touched one myself, but I have read about people finding 4.226 in their si trans.

no, you would have to get counter shaft off of a b16 tranny also

i have read that the only diff is the actual differential mounting for the ring gear.

For future reference.

b16 fd differential gear can be used but only with b16 diff

Ok wait.. I misunderstood the post

If you want a b16 diff in a gsr tranny you ALSO need the ring gear. The b16 diff is smaller than the 1.8 differentials so the ring gear is also different. Now the B16 and 96 spec type r tranny DO have the same ratio, but the differential and the ring gear is different.

a b16 diff in a gsr isnt a good idea. They are not as strong, and you can even pick up a oem type r or gsr diff on ebay with LSD for around 400-500 bucks.

no they are 4.4 done a million of these.

the common FD upgrade for the B16 Si tranny requires an ITR or GSR differential, most people prompt to go with an LSD upgrade as well in which case they use the ITR or CTR LSD. If aftermarket LSD will be used you need to order one for an ITR or GSR application since most FD upgrades are based off of the JDM final kit which uses the ITR ring gear (only fits GSR and ITR/CTR)
