type-R lsd and b16 4.40 final drive gear ???
I just got a type-r lsd to put into my 1995 jdm b16a2 tranny. I heard that the bolt pattern for the final drive gear on the lsd is different than the 4.40 gear's bolt pattern that came in the b16a2 tranny...is this true?

Re: (MFactory)
The type-r lsd has angular bearings on it and i'm wondering if my 95 jdm b16 case will work with those. Thanks for the info!

i have a 98 spec R LSD in my b16 tranny.
to be safe let's say you're gonna keep the 4.400 final drive.
To make it work inside your B16 casing. you'll need to change the GSR/ITR angle rolling bearing to the LS/b16 ball bearing.
If you have a USDM type R lsd, then it's already 4.400 final drive. It'll work with your B16 countershaft, cuz it's also 4.400 final drive. But if you have a JDM spec R LSD with a 4.785, then you'll have to swap that for a USDM GSR/ITR final ring gear to make it 4.400.
I never swap my JDM speed gear out. So i guess your should work too.
Mine was pretty easy to install, good luck with yours.
