Default Searched, no avail! Need help.

I'm looking to purchase a '94 GSR and this is the description of the clutch problem given to me. Its a copy/paste from the original post:

"When i drove the car i feel that the clutch is not gribbing at all, this only happen sometime. I step on the gas, the RPM goes up, but the car not speeding up. As for the clutch paddle it is very soft compared to my civic its stiff, you can feel the forces from the master cylinder when stepping down on the clutch in my civic (ACT clutch kit stage 1). As for this car you cannot feel the force of the master cylinder at all. My guess is that the clutch friction disk need to be replace or you can just replace it with an after clutch kits and have the whole clutch be redone. Overall, this car is driveable just not for racing until the clutch is fix. Someone said it could be the pressure plate."

Any insight on this? And how much for the "whole clutch to be redone?" I could get a aftermarket replacement clutch kit, but will that cure it? Thanks!

if its revving up like that when he gives it gas, might be the clutch dying. so its a ~$300 fix.

thats if youre doing the work....tell him to knock off like $800 or so off the price for the inconvenience and then do the work yourself....its not that hard given you have all the needed tools

Thanks. So a clutch kit would do the trick? If so, I'll be jumping on it. Thanks!

If your going to replace the clutch, get your flywheel re-surfaced.
