knock sensor..help me please

Default knock sensor..help me please

ok well this is the deal. i have a 99 gsr motor that i am putting into my ek. the knock sensor on the motor is broken. my question was do i still need to run it even if i have a kenji chipped p28 ecu?

hmm. I think the motor will run, but you will run on limp mode because the OEM ECU will look for it.

The knock sensor there to listen to your motor for any misfire so it could retared your timing. Best bet is to get another one, but they can be expensive at the dealer. Find a use one and it would work. You can get it at the junk yard too.

Mines broke, i'm waiting on a my chipped p72 to get here so i don't have to run one. Lots of people don't run them.

You said you're using a P28 ECU, I thought that ECU doesn't look for a knock sensor. I might be wrong, but that seems to be in my head.

Hes correct...no knock sensor circuitry in a p28
