Grounding Wire Kits
Anyone have a engine grounding wire kit on their car? what points/where do the wires need to be hooked up too? anyone have pictures? notice any difference?
thanks.
thanks.
I read a article in a magazine about those groung wiring kits,They tested like ten differen't kits and out of all ten two made a little more horse power on the dyno and the rest actually lost horse power.Don't remember which ones gained horse power.

You're not going to make 9whp with a grounding kit. However, you may see a smoother idle, and some iginition and electrical gains, but that's about it.
Also you don't need to waste a lot of money on these kits. Just make your own kit, using speaker wire (4 or 8 gauge) and some gold plated terminals.

We are pleased to announce that during a recent dyno test for D-Sport magazine, the new A'PEX Super Ground System made an outstanding 8.5 horse power to the wheels. Testing was conducted on a 2004 Subaru WRX STi using XS Engineering's four wheel chassis dynamometer.
We are very pleased to announce that in a recent grounding system dyno shootout conducted by TPR Magazine, the A'PEX Super Ground System added an amazing 9 wheel horsepower on the B16a powered Honda Del Sol test car! This was by far THE highest gains from any ground system tested in the shoot out. Power gains were seen across the entire RPM spectrum with absolutely no losses at any point.

Post some independent dynos, rather than a company trying to sell them. Also, those "gains" were shown on an STI. Show me an independent dyno done on a car where 9whp was gained.
If you believe a ground kit is going to give you 9 whp, I bet you also believe that a CAI is going to give you 15 whp. Don't believe the marketing.
If you check out this site: http://www.importtuner.com/tech/0306it_ppprelude/ , there were little gains from a grounding kit.

the only way i can see you gain 9 hp is if your ground wires are so messed up that replacing them would restore the "lost" 9 hp but damned if youre gonna gain over what you ever had
I didn't believe there was any way a ground wire kit would make more power. But after reading about it in lots of different magazines on new and old cars I have to believe there is something to it.Most of the articles start out with the same feeling I had and are believers after they do their own testing.
