Default Clutchmasters flywheel vs. Fidanza flywheel.

I've read nothing but good stories about both, the clutchmasters is cheaper, both are similar in weight and both look like they got about the same design....

does fidanza make CM's fw's?

i just really cant decide on which one to get, there's so many nice ones out there. first i wanted the TODA... then the fidanza.... now maybe CM cuz of price.... so which one would you guys get, and y....

thanx

i think fidanza and CM are the same...

comptech LOOKS identical to the clutchmasters as well.. but the CM is blue and comptech is silver. comptech is lighter though.

i would really suggest getting a scatter shield, only because i am extra paranoid of losing my legs (and maybe groin) due to schrapnel... it doesnt seem too pleasant of an idea.
With our cars an exploding flywheel would rip through the passenger side of the car. Our legs are safe.

I can't beleive nobody here knows FOR SURE if Fidanza makes Clutchmasters. I'm buying a CM this week if nobody can give me a reason for why Fidanza is 100 bucks more. Maybe I'll call Larry at Endyne. He'd know, right?

They're the same, why the price is lower ? Becauase a while back someone bought them in bulk and whored them out to the public. Should you expect to see this pricing much longeR? no. I personally still get the fidanza ones.

im getting a clutchmasters 7.5lb flywheel and ACT xtreme clutch with 4puck disc
i know it will hold up. From other users...and smart driving.

gettin it in febuary...if u want to wait for another month i'll give u my opinion.
since im gettin a 4puck theres no break-in time...soo i'll just beat the damn thing down and pull the tranny for a quick look.

i like clutchmasters price...but i would rather get the fidanza just cause i feel that they have a better product. Clutchmasters price is the best!!! its the only reason thats allowing me to upgrade to a really good clutch setup.

why are you going with a 4 puck clutch? There is really no reason to get one like that, Unless you are a full bore drag racer.. If not, please save your drivetrain with a HD pressure plate and Street disk.. JMO though....

They are exactly the same . The rep. at fidanza told me so when I wanted to buy directly instead of from clutchmaster's distributor. He told me they sell their flywheels to clutchmaster and others, in turn, they just put their names on.
So just buy CM.

You gotta be kidding about the Aluminum Shattering...

I would say that the chance of a Chrome-Moly Flywheel shattering would be much greater than a Aluminum FW. Steel is much more brittle than the Aluminum. What you said was just the direct opposite of everything I've ever heard on the subject.

Anyways...Yes..Fidanza and CM are the same.

From what you said the CM and Fidanza FW are very "unsafe"
Do you have any evidence/fact to support your argument?

Aluminum flywheels don't shatter.

Lightened OEM flywheels shatter. Ask Tom @ Portflow.

So are you saying lightened OEM flywheel shatter because it is shaved and therefore is not as strong as it suppose to be?
Aftermarket aluminum flywheel is alright since it is designed for it, right?

Is our OEM ITR flywheel made by aluminum and multi-pieces?

So, will Toda/Spoon explode as well?

Do they make a tranny sheild or blanket for our car to protect such happenings? I don't want that special someone sitting next to me and get leg-less.

Does anyone have facts to support the aluminum FW shatter rumor. I'm about to buy one.

...they are of the same manufacture if I remember correctly... and for the production, they are both overpriced... feeding the huge rice-market... you can find the same flywheel in a Summit rag (mustang application) for much less... it's all about "supply and demand".

the CM has a removable wear pad which can be replaced .. the fidanza has a riveted on wear pad.. fidanza can replace , but the CM one is much easier to replace

Are the Clutchmasters suppose to come with the alignment dowels for the pressure plate? My friend just got a clutchmasters and it doesnt have the dowels.
