Default worst luck in the world!!!!

I'm at this girls house @ lets say 9:30 ish, I decide its time to go to the crib, I get 2 maybe 3 streets away I'm cruising to a red light with a big *** ford f-150 waiting @ the lights I pull up behind this truck with 8 to 10 feet to spare, I throw it in neutral and lean over to grab my cell phone out of the passengers seat (I bet you can already see where this is going!) as I'm leaning back I look forward and notice bright reverse lights............ This piece of crap backs up right on top of my car. I almost hopped out and killed this man. I mean if it wasn't for his demeanor I would have.

Let me just tell you now I need a new drivers side headlight, front bumper and new hood.... Tell me this doesn't suck!

Since this idiots insurance is paying for it.... I was wondering if you guys knew of any deals on a oem style carbon fiber hood and jdm headlights.

I hate stupid people...... Any help you guys can give me would be greatly appreciated..... Sorry I'm not even thinking straight!!

ehh that sucks....

i say for the hood go look on s2ki... or well they are paying for it. so just get a brand new one from somewhere hehehehe...

secondly.. i suggest you NOT get jdm headlights... if you get jdm lights you will be blinding oncomming traffic becaue your drivers side light will shine higher then it's supposed to...

same thing happened to me on my bike about a month ago. I was at a stop sign behind a huge f250 truck, and for some reason he decided to back up. tore my whole front end and then took off. Luckily my friend behind me got the dudes plate number and we called the po-po. Cost the dude $1500 in damages as well as 30 days for hit-and-run. I came out of it with a small burn on my leg from the exhaust !

i had this happen to e in my integra, but i got rear ended by a neon. completly his fault for not paying attention, basically it tore my bumper cover when it hit the meter renforcement underneather. so i figured id go through his company since it was his fault.

so after a week of his insurance company waiting to see if it was actually his fault(despit him saying it was) they came out and said they would fix the bumper cover and wanted to write my a check for 200.00(which would of only cover almost half of the bill). but i wanted it replaced so it ended up being a big ordeal.

moral of the story, after talking to my insurance company, if i would have went through them, they would have replaced the bumper cover and covered all the other charges(paint, install etc) then went after his company with nothing being on my nsurance record since it wasnt my fault. so just becareful that his insurance company doesnt pull the same stuff for the cheap way out when yours might take care of you alot better.

Whoever said dont worry about it and that its getting paid for...understand that when your car has been in an accident, alot of times during sales or trade in, it is noticeable to the trained eye...so now, because of some idiots lack of paying attention, he's going to have replacement parts on his car, and when people ask "Has it been in an accident?" you gotta be like "Yup..." and some people might walk on that account...so yes, he has EVERY right to be pissed...EVERY right.

This similar situation happened in a gas station parking lot to my wife when we had our EJ hatch...lady in a jeep cherokee wasnt paying attention, she goes to back up and back up ONTO my wife's car, car was fairly low, had a set of JDM CTR headlights we had JUST bought, and a brand new week old VIS carbon fiber hood...to make a long story short, we ended up getting shanked on the CF hood because they didnt refund shipping cost to get a new one, and they gave us about 2 months of **** on the phone about replacing the headlights with CTR headlights because we didnt have a reciept (i bought them from a buddy of mine)...so we got everything we needed (minus hood shipping cost which was alot)...but its like, these ******* idiots just back their cars up and run over cars, i mean really, how ******* dumb can you be not to simply check your mirrors and not see a ******* CAR behind you...

Sorry for your luck man...

if you take to a good body shop and have the parts replaced with honda oem parts you will not be able to tell if its been in a accident, i use to work in a bodyshop and if you do a good job you cannnot tell at all if its been in a accident

and hes only getting a bumper, headlight, and a hood thats in no way major bodywork

plus im not saying "dont get so pissed" like hes being an *** or anything, im saying its only a car, its not that important, you shouldnt stress that much, it will be all good in the end

hes got some VERY minor work that needs to be done, and any halfway capable bodyshop will be able to do this job and leave no evidence that those parts were ever replaced

That's why you request a "diminshed value" adjustment.

Hey man...im just saying, some people can tell, plus, im an honest guy, if someone asked me if its been wrecked, id tell them the truth...i was just saying, your telling him not to be so mad...when he's got every right to be pissed off because this idiot didnt pay attention.

Say it was a Ferrari...sure you have insurance, but hell, you want to drive your ferrari right? You dont want some rental car while its in the shop...same difference.

I, by no means, am saying that the owner should hide the fact of accident damage to the new buyer. What I'm saying is that if the car is now worth $2000 less than its counterpart that didn't get into an accident, get that diminished value adjustment from the insurance company.

The current owner get extra cash in his/her pocket now, and when it comes time to sell the car, he/she may get the proper value of the car (after the accident), or may get more than that value. The other thing an "accident" car can provide is that if the owner can withstand a $2000 lower selling price on the car (seeing that he/she has already gotten that difference from the ins. co.), there may be a new buyer that can now afford a car that's $2000 cheaper than what KBB value may be.

Regardless of all this...who the hell wants to have their S2000 in the shop? And who could honestly say they wouldnt be pissed if some idiot backed up onto their S2000...i know all about diminished value, i understand that they try and compensate you when these things happen, but still, regardless of ALL of that, i dont want to be without our S2000 because some guy couldnt look in his mirror, therefore the irritation, aggrivation and anger is perfectly legit and justified.

Really? You going to transfer the VIN sticker on the hood?

Last I heard that was illegal and if it's not there it's pretty obvious that it was wrecked.

Most likely there will be some hidden damage too that will be obvious to the trained eye on a close inspection.

I'm bringing my car to the best body guy I know, he makes every car look like its never been touched. Just one concern if I do get the jdm headlights what else do I have to buy with them, I heard something about some other bulbs or something. Could you let me know exactly what else I need and how much it costs. Back to the body guy he's great and all but I don't know if he'll know how to install them. How hard are they to put in. I don't want to complicate things and have to wait for parts when I could be driving....

Oh yeah, one good thing about this car they make almost nothing aftermarket, so most parts come straight from japan.(only good thing, I guess)..

This is sorta OT but I'm just curious. What's the benefit of the JDM lights? black housing? some functional difference? the ability to tinker with the drivers side light so you don't blind other drivers.. not really getting it.

A similar situation happened to me on my motorcycle; I was behind an 18 wheeler. I dropped the bike and rolled! he didn't run over the bike though. Now, I make sure that I'm in clear view of their rear view mirror. I believe in defensive driving.

clear turn signals i guess....no functional difference... other than blinding on-coming traffic even more......

i constantly get people flashing me because they think i have my high beams on.... and i dont have the jdm lights....

i personally dont see a need for them, and IMO i think the amber looks better....

and all the housings are black......

Get the hood, it look sick azz hell. In my opinion, get the o4 head lights. It's a good investment and to upgrade your head light to 04, nothing goes wrong.
