si head into dx?
i have order a 89 si head and i am wondering if the wiring harness of a dx model comes with a vtec wire so i can put in vtec because i have read that some cars come with a vtec wire harness when the car is not vtec.
huh? your trying to put a 89 si head thats non-vtec and hopeing that vtec will magically engage? there are no vtec wires on our usdm stock crx's you have to get that from different places. if you have a dx model you have 2 injectors and the si head will have 4 so u have to do the mpfi swap.
your motor....will not have vtec....ever...simply b/c the motor you have never had vtec..even if you swap the head....there's no oil jets in the cylinder walls none fo the "hardware" for vtec is present on your motor block...So no vtec....
However if you put an SI head on the dx motor...the si had more injectors...so you'll have to rewire some stuff for it to manage the new injectors....cool? I hoep i helped a little and didn't sound like a dick....good luck

This is only if you swap intake manifolds (which would be smart). Honestly, the dx head flows just as well as the Si from what i've seen so swapping them would be pointless unless it's lower miles or rebuilt or something and you're burning oil/doing head gasket anyways. Just do the mpfi conversion on your dx (just swap intake manifolds and do wiring) and be happy with that.
And do a search for "mpfi conversion" and you'll see the wiring you have to do. You also have to swap to a pm6 ecu (Si)

my dx has a stuck valve that why i had to swap it. all i what to do is drive it and where can i find a dx head
so if i put in the si head i would have to convert it to mpfi and
i would have to use an auto pm6 too because my car is auto

you can leave it dpfi if you want. Just use the intake manifold that is on your car.

If all you want to do is swap the heads then just swap the heads nothing is needed. Now if you were changing the intake manifold to the Si intake manifold then yes there would be more work involved but head for head its a straight swap.
