///once boosted but now n/a...is the motor still good??\\\
im not sure what forum this should go under so i apologize if its in the wrong one.
but heres my question. i am about to buy a 2000 si with 57k on the motor. everything on the car is perfect. interior exterior paint ect the only question i have is that the car was once boosted. it had the greddy kit at stock boost for about 7 or 8 months.. so should i have any concerns about the engine? it runs really stong and everything is returned to stock. anyone have experiences with boosted motors goin back to stock or n/a, how is the motor holding up, any problems?..
any insight on this would be appreciated.....thanks

Another thing to look for is smoke from the exhaust. This is a sign of bad valves (valve stem seals), a bad headgasket, or excessive piston ring wear.
Like LSVTEC said, if the owner or dealer can prove that the engine has been well maintained and not overboosted, by means of a comp. test and leakdown test, then it's up to you to use your best judgement to decided whether or not to buy the car.
Good luck with your purchase.
