Got a quick question here. A friend of mines is tying to sell his 00 Civic EX, however it has been in an accident. Now I know in order for a car to have a Salvage title, the repairs must be worth more than the cars value or something. In his case, repairs were about 1500 only, so I'm guessing that would not result in a salvage title. But would it still stay clean title? Or would it retain a different title?

 

the way it would get salvage is if the insurance company totalled his car out...

i think you would have to have it inspected by the state after you repair it. then maybe it would get a rebuilt title. it will never be a "clean" title again. at least that's how ohio is.

 

it really depends on the person that punches it in at the auto license place.. I've had salvage come back clean just because whoever did it didnt care to make it stay salvage...

 

if the titel says salvage or rebuilt titel on it then that is what it is. if it does not say anythign like that then its a clean title.
