HEY WHATS UP HT : my name is edward
i would like to do a motor swap to my 1998 honda civic sohc 1.6l vtec for more power on all motor i want to go with a dohc engine what would be the best engine to gain more power and wont be too expensive

**where can i search for swaps that fit my EK?????
**what engine could i use?
i apriciate your help with ideas or any comments
i know a little of the most common engines in my area like b16's and h22's
The first look i had was a "i am a rookie "this one under this
* LS motor w/ tranny axcels and ECU for 1,500
i thought it was cheap but i dont know a whole lot about this engine
*i dont know how much hp this engine pushes or how much torque it has
what are my others options?????????????/

honestly you can put just about any honda engine in that car, do a little research and see what you can come up with, the new thing is a rsx types k20 or of course the jdm k20R. what does your budget look like?

If your on a budget, I would (and I know many will argue):
JDM B16A GEN 2 Engine Swap (w/LSD Transmission)
Buddy Club Spec 4 cams
Full head job by Portflow (Milled to 11.5.1)
Type R outer valve springs / Portflow inner valve springs
Portflow retainers
Match port intake manifold
Bore throttle body
Adjustable cam gears
Adjustable fuel pressure regulator
Fuel pressure gauge
Apex GEN 1 VAFC
P28 ECU
OBDII to OBD conversion harness
1 to 2 hours of dyno tuning
^ The above would be a great starting setup for you because it would produce reasonable power for a very reasonable price and in the end be able to handle the beating that a first time b-series owner will put on it. I NEVER EVER suggest fist time b-series people go B20/LS/VTEC like so many do. For those motors to be efficient, they need to be built by someone who understands what they need to be done right.
If your not on a budget, CTR swap with an LS crank would be a nice thing to have then again so would a K20R.
