race gas limits???
are there certain limits to race gasses like c16 and sonoco 112? i'll be dynoing my car next weekend and shooting for 500whp, but c16 isnt available around where i live so i was goin to go with the sonoco 112. also what are the limits for other octane's like 100, 105, 109, 112, and 116?
The limits of a certain octane ratings keep getting pushed higher, and higher. There are many cars that have hit 400hp on 91 octane. A couple even 500hp. It's all up to what you feel comfortable with, and what your tuner recommends. I like c16 too, but if 112 is all you can get your hands on, that will fine for your 500hp goal!
Good luck!

well my fuel system consists of a walbro 255lph pump, 1000cc injector, str rail, and hondata s200. I'm also running 10:1 compression. i was thinking maybe some 105 or so octane. anyone see any problems with that? basically what i'm tryin to say is what are the limits of the inbetween gasses? because it seems to me that either people run pump gas(91 or 93 octane), then they jump up to c16.

i just dont wanna run too high of octane if i dont have too. i've seen 700+whp honda's run c16, so i think it would be overkill for me if i can get away with 105 octane and be fine. also due to the fact that you make the most hp on the lowest octane possible before detenation like prostock said.

is there some kind of chart on which race gas is for what applications, and the limitations on it? has anyone ever used the other octanes'? i just find it hard to believe some can make 400+whp on pump gas (91-93 octane), then the only other option be c16.
