Default undecided k20 or h22

i plan on buying a del sol soon.

the 2 possible engines i would like to put in are the h22 or the k20.
both of these have a strong point and weak point.

the k20 is beauuuutiful, but a much harder swap and much more expensive. i would also imagine that the ecu would cause some probs? (also i dont specifically know of a company that makes mounts for the del sol, but hasport has for the 92-95 eg civic and they arnt that different) but the engine has greater potential (atleast looks to be that way) and a 6 speed transmission is ahhhhhh (:

the h22 on the other hand is more popular and the price is reasonable. granted your stuck w/ only a 5 speed tranny, but with the cost instead of a k20 you could probobly buy a turbo kit for this badboy and have wayy more power.

i guess im just asking what opinions any of you guys have, as many of you have been long time tuners. this is mostly a battle of the engines but also the engines w/ the specific swap being a eg. i know that the k20 has funkier mounts than the h22. the h22 would indeed be the easier route to take, but is it the more driveable and will the hp/tq be that much of a signifigant boost w/ a k20.... sigh....

thx for help in advance

if you have the money for the k20 i would stick with that. Hasport makes the mounts, but they are expensive as well as everything with the swap. IMO the h22 is a heavy engine but can have good potential with enough money.

If you have like $10,000 laying around do the K20....if not the H22 is far cheaper to do the swap. But ahh...the beauty of a K20 in an EG. Wow

Forget about the k20, put in an h22 and turbo it. You should plan to spend some money on a good radar detector and theft preventative measures.

hmm and i will have some monies to buy neccessities, these things always taking up more monies than intended, maybe safer for h22.

and its not really my goal to turbo it... but its a possibility and the gsr turbo would be nice, but IMO the h22 has more potential for power w/ less work put in.

just having the h22a1 instead of a b18c5 i would shave off probobly 1-1.5 secs in a 1/4 stock.

ahh .. *cough* errm back to the subject. does anyone have the h22 swap and how is the tranny?

and also does anyone have the k20 swap and how is *shiver w/ excitement* the tranny in it

and any eg or ek really i guess as weight and proportion arnt all too different from the 2 (:

theoretically how much top speed (highway kung fu) would you gain from the 6th gear... bump me up from toping out at what? 145 to maybe 180? ...

again thx for help and interest (:

H22 for the money right now. Then K20 later.
