i've had the bov installed for about 2 months now and it just started making this fluttering type sound. It used to not do this so what happened? Do i need to take it apart and look at it? It still blows off like it should, but i get this funny sound right before it blows off??

Can this hurt anything (i.e., maybe the turbo) if i don't do something about it soon?

 

Are you running that little filter inline with the vacuum source the BOV gets? It should have come with the HKS valve (if bought new).

 

i see only one vacuum hose coming from the bov teed into a line from the manifold. By the way, this is a Blitz bov, not HKS. And i'm not running the filter either.

either your boost source is not strong enough or that's how it sounds. My HKS flutters sometimes, I love every second of it. ;^) Edit: No it won't hurt your turbo. My bov changes sounds every once in a while. Do blitzes have an adjustment? Maybe you need to do that.

 

by the way, no vacuum leaks.......and this is the dual drive bov......

I have problems occasionally with my dual drive as well. I just think it's a shitty bov design. Just a piston with a spring on top of it. Probably why it doesn't hold vacuum

 

I love my Blitz. The vacuum line is hooked up directly to the back of the intake manifold. There are no fluttering, leaking, or vacuum issues, and the dual drive system, though basic, works fine. Most bovs are just a piston and a spring. What makes that shitty?

If your car isn't holding idle or vacuum, then tighten it or replace the spring. This is the second post I've seen about the Blitz not holding vacuum and I just don't understand the problem. Do you actually see the piston in an open position at idle?

BTW, buttsneeze, just clean it.

 

most blow off valves leak at idle, its the nature of the design, the type-s does it, the blitz does it, the turbo-xs does it. IT sounds like trash may have gotten stuck in the vacuum line, try cleaning out the line and see what happens, if that doesnt work then try a different vacuum source.

 

just put a few (more) washers into the bov it'll tighten the spring tension and will hold vacuum better.

 

you cant really put any washers in it, the way the adjusting system is designed on the blitz. it sounds like some crap is stuck in the vacuum line

 

Cleaning mine out did help a ton, I dont get compressor surge nearly as much as I use to. Just opened it up and oiled up friction surfaces.

 

get an HKS ssqv and you will have no probs
