Im looking for a new or used mugen rear sway bar of my GSR. Mugen doesn't sell them (in the states) anymore. Where can I find one? Please help

Like i said, mugen no longer sells them in the states. I've talked to them already and also looked on ebay and no luck.

Obviously Mugen is the first place I looked. Anyone know somebody selling their rear mugen sway bar?

If you're talking about the rear sway, the best bang for your buck is the ITR sway with the BSQ. There really isn't a need to change the fronts in integras. Do a search and you'll find hundreds of threads about the ITR sway bar.

 

which bar are you looking for?

Mugen 24mm or Mugen 26mm?

If it's the 26 mm, a few people in the ITR forum run those, so it might be worth a try asking in there.

What is the current setup you have right now?

If it's just the stock 14mm bar that comes on the gsr, I would suggest you first try the stock ITR bar which is 22mm. If you want to go a little bigger, there is the 23mm bar which comes from the japanese ITR's.

Whichever bar you chose, you will need a reinforcement kit that properly places the sway bar closer to the subframe to prevent tear-outs.

But if your still intent on a Mugen bar, best thing to do is post a WTB ad, ask around in the ITR or Road Race forum, and call some tuner shops to see if they can have one imported for you.

My setup right now is mugen front and rear strut tower bars, comptech rear (22mm) sway w/ tie bar combo, and stock front bar. I have skunk2 race spring and 5 way kybs.
I guess i dont care if its mugen or not, i just wanted it to be jdm. I'd deffinetly do the itr bar. You said for the itr bar, i would need a reinforcement kit. where would i get one of these? are tear outs common when upgrading to the itr bar? Thanks for the help.

whats wrong with the comptech sway bar? why do you want a different one? but yea, subframe tear out is very common if a larger sway bar is used without a reinforcement kit. search for BSQ or Beaks Kit.. they are cheap. I'm using the Beaks kit with Energy suspension bushings & a Skunk2 sway bar

 

I know i said rear bar, but i meant front. I love my comptech rear bar. Im looking to upgrade my front bar. I dont know if i should go with mugen or an itr bar or what. So, you're saying that no matter what bar I upgrade to in front, I'll need a reinforcment kit? Just making sure. I dont know a whole lot about suspension and I want the best handling for the money. You said you had a skunk2 front with a beaks kit? How do you like it and how well does it handle? Thanks for your help!!

 

A subframe reinforcement kit like the beaks and bsq one are only necesary for the rear from what i understand. I was told by bsq that I would be fine running the jdm itr front swaybar without any issue. Since you're looking for a jdm front swaybar, i would suggest getting a jdm itr front swaybar from passwordjdm.com or something of the sort.

From the way i read things, you are using the comptech rear sway with no subframe reinforcement. That probably isn't the best idea. It sure would suck to rip your subframe all to hell.

Before you spend anymore money, find out what each piece of the suspension does, and how it will affect your handling when you adjust things.

Typically for a front wheel drive car, like our integras, increasing the front sway/stablizer bar rate will create a bit more understeer.

And increasing the rear sway/stablizer bar rate will create more oversteer.

Stock 3rd gen integras come from the factory with either a 22mm, or 24mm front sway bar (USDM), which is pretty big.

Are you sure you still want to increase the sway bar diameter? You can also just get stiffer sway bar bushings.

There are lots of books out there, and threads to learn from. Try searching and learning before you spend/waste money.

I am still learning and ive hear ddifferent things from different people. One guy told me that the 94 gsr came with a 14mm front bar. Thats why i wanted to upgrade, but if its a 22mm bar, maybe ill just get stiffer bushings like you said. Thanks for the reply.

So your gsr bar is 14 mm.

 

will someone please tell me what a reinforcement kit does and what it looks like and where i bolt it to? Or list a website so i can learn myself.

the reinforcement kit he shoed is for the rear sway bar and is to prevent the bar from tearing out your subframe. your comptech bar came with a kit already.
