its a vacuum float for the idle i belive. easy to find replacements.

 

that should be the dashpot diaphram. not really important, unless u need to pass emissions

 

Yep, it supposedly helps keep the car from jerking when you suddenly close the throttle from an open position. I've completely removed mine from my DA and have noticed NO difference. However, others have said they removed it and it made the car jerk a lot at low throttle... not sure if it's just their pereception or maybe mine was bad all along, but I noticed no difference with it removed completely.

 

yeah its the dashpot, i think it has to do with the idle when the car is cold... dont quote me on that though

 

Dashpot diaphram! Took mine off to clear the strut bar...
I haven't notice a difference with throttle response like some ppl...
Easy to replace...

brother had one on his b17a1 took it off and no problems with it what so ever....

 

dont put one on. waste of time, just plug the vacum line up.
