Default P72 Spoon GSR chip

I have a turboed Gsr and want to chip it. I dont know much about chips and so forth. Will this chip from spoon work with my hondata ecu? Do I need anything else for the upgrade? Im running a stock head and block, but i want to raise the reline. Whats a safe redline with the p72 chip and my hondata?

Thanks in advance- Dave

forget about that chip if you have hondata. just have the hondata tuned on the dyno. why raise the rev limit with a stock block and head?

I've always wanted a high redline, like 9000, but i can wait till i build the head. What does the p72 chip do? When i read SS and sport compact car, they turboed hondas featured always have p28 or p72 chips with their hondata. Would it work with the hondata?

EXACTLY!!!! Hondata is fully tuneable....WAY better than the generic spoon chip.

So screw the chip then? Why do some cars have it with their hondata? What does it do?

i have no clue what your talking about..people who run hondata have a custom map (chip) made for their particular motor and set up. People only run other programs for reasons such as; not having enough money to get the car on the dyno and pay the tuner, or they got the ecu already chipped with a program once hondata system was bought, chip was removed with a 29c256 eeprom for tuning. The chip basically tells the car how much a/f the motor should be using, as well as vtec/rev limit/boost settings/etc.
