what to torqe arp rod bolts??
hey im puttin my ls vtec to gather and i got arp rod bolts...they say with there lube torqe them at 26ftlbs....this seems a little low to me.....should i torqe them to factory honda ..or what they call 4...26ftlbs?????
use rod bolt stretch as your guide, not ft/lb
or if you dont have a rod bolt stretch gauge that you can use, follow the manufactures(ARP) torque spes.

yeah there are a lot of topics on everything surrounding the bolts but nothing exactly to the question of this post, i know cuz i searched like crazy, but just to clear things up on the arp website they have a list with the tq #s per part # so for the arp 8mm bolts is it 26lbs with the arp lube and you have to tq them down 4 times thats right, loosen and re tq in steps.

taken straight from his site
"ARP studs are used in the block to yield consistent torque values for each head fastener. "
"The head is torqued to 64 ftlbs, using moly-lube on the studs, "
on arps site it lists all the way up to 80 ft lbs with 30wt. oil and 63ft lbs with moly lube for 208-4303 (gsr head studs) with use of moly lube http://www.arp-bolts.com/pages...q.pdf
head studs are very different from head bolts.....the factory specs are meant for head bolts not head studs
