Default dash and climate control lights wont turn on

so my car got jacked a couple weeks ago and luckily the cops found it...well..i had a dash mounted tach on it that the thieves ripped out, they also took the rear window defroster button with the bracket ,and the dimmer switch button and bracket..so when they yanked the tach off with all the wring still attached im assuming this cut off the power to the dash and climate control lights cuz the speedo ,temp, and gas meter work....but the no seat belt light comes on..so does the e brake, srs, and high beam light ..i dont know a damn thing about wiring can anyone tell me what im lookin for when i try to fix it tomorrow..the farthest ive gone into my dash is to take it out to paint all the bulbs ..i painted the ones behind the climate control as well..they worked fine until the car got jacked..anyone with any info or know how to fix this just lemme know..aaight peace

I had some guy wire up a new cd player for me about 2 years ago and he fucked everything up and now i have no dash lights at all except blinkers, brights, e brake, and seat belt. i went to honda and they basically told me its way to much work to find out the exact problem so i have no idea what to tell you. sorry man

I had about the same problem with my '92 hatch. It turned out to be a bad dimmer switch. Since yours is ripped out, I imagine that's what it is. I made a copper jumper that I slid into the connector. This solved the problem. You can probably just put the two wires from the dimmer together to get your lights back. Just be sure they are securely attached and not just twisted together. Oh yeah, disconnect your battery as a precaution while you do this.
