Radiator Fan Paper Clip Trick---When done correctly, does it turn off when engine is off?
My fan is all screwed up. The wiring harness is cut when they stole the car from the previous owner.
If I do the paper clip trick, will the fan turn off when I turn off the engine or will it stay on? Thats all I want too know. I should go try it, but its hella dark outside
Plus I have to take the bus downtown to pick it up.

it is wired up to a toggle. I want it to run when the cars on. haha--suppose to lower my NOx levels if it cools off my system. I cant have it on all the time though. Only when the car turns on.

pull the two connectors from the coolant temp switch on the back of the engine and connect them with wire, a paperclip, etc.
This circuit ONLY receives power while the key is turned to START and/or while the engine is running. If you want to wire a toggle switch, wire it into the same place as you are placing the paperclip. This way your switch isnt taking the draw from the fan (which can melt the switch) and the fan relay is
hope this helps

this is one of the dumbest idea's ever
the fan is controlled by a temp swithc, it only turns on when your car is hot. when your car is cold, the thermostat is closed anyway.
